After the CDU party congress in Stuttgart, the parliamentary chief of staff for the Union faction in the Bundestag, Steffen Bilger (CDU), said the Union parties are united again for the first time in a long while. “We know what we want and where we want to take this country” Bilger told the “Rheinische Post” in its Monday edition.
He emphasized that this unity applies to the work of the Union faction, adding that the coalition should move forward together. Bilger also praised CSU leader Markus Söder’s speech at the congress, noting that Söder reinforced the signal of solidarity emanating from the event-“not only within the CDU, but across the entire Union family”.
