Brasil secured the top spot in Group C at the World Cup after a convincing 3-0 victory over Scotland. While Colombia also finished with a point, Morocco claimed second place after winning their parallel match 4-2 against Haiti.
In the match between Brazil and Scotland, Vinicius Junior capitalized on a significant defensive error by Scotland’s McKenna in the 7th minute to give the national team the lead. The Scots struggled throughout the game, constantly making mistakes in their defense. Vinicius Junior doubled the lead just before halftime, scoring with a header following a cross.
During the second half, Brazil maintained its dominant display. Matheus Cunha extended the lead to 3-0 in the 60th minute following a superb attacking move. Scotland managed few meaningful chances and could not seriously challenge the Brazilian defense. Adding to the storyline, international superstar Neymar returned to the national team after 981 days, entering the match in the 76th minute.
In the separate fixture between Morocco and Haiti, Haiti surprised everyone by taking the lead in the 10th minute when Lenny Joseph scored a header after a quick pass from Jean-Kévin Duverne. Morocco equalized in the 39th minute through Achraf Hakimi, who converted a deflected shot by Bilal El Khannouss from close range.
Just before the break, Haiti took the lead again in the 43rd minute with a spectacular shot from distance by Wilson Isidor. However, Morocco proved resilient and leveled the score during stoppage time, with Ismael Saibari scoring from 15 meters into the left corner after a pass from Hakimi.
In the second half, Morocco increasingly controlled the game. Soufiane Rahimi put the North Africans ahead for the first time in the 78th minute following a corner. Chadi Riad crossed the ball to Rahimi, who scored while turning. Gessime Yassine sealed the victory in the 89th minute, scoring his first goal for the side after a assist from Soufiane Rahimi. Despite their notable win, Morocco could only secure second place in the group, finishing level on points with Brazil.
