The Alliance Sahra Wagenknecht (BSW) is formally requesting a recount of the recent federal election through the Bundestag’s electoral committee. Party leader Amira Mohamed Ali, in a statement to the “Rheinische Post”, highlighted the unusual circumstances of the party’s near-miss in achieving parliamentary representation.
Mohamed Ali asserted that the BSW has identified significant anomalies, alleging both systematic counting errors and a notable number of ballot miscounts. She expressed hope that the Bundestag’s election review committee would consider ordering a complete recount of the votes.
The BSW intends to submit a formal statement outlining these concerns to the committee later Wednesday evening. The request centers around the exceptionally close result experienced by the party during the election.
