Sahra Wagenknecht, the founder of the BSW party, affirmed that BSW representatives in Saxony-Anhalt do not intend to vote for AfD top candidate Ulrich Siegmund. Speaking to the “Redaktionsnetzwerk Deutschland” (Wednesday edition), she noted that while Siegmund might be a skilled campaign fighter, he himself doubts whether he would make a good Minister-President. Wagenknecht added that the convoluted way he handles the question of under what conditions he will run cannot be easily explained.
She also sharply criticized Siegmund for justifying the relocation of an Israeli defense corporation-whose product range includes missiles and howitzers-by claiming that these items would allegedly be needed for deportations. According to Wagenknecht, this position does not represent him, and it generates fear even among many people who have been well-integrated into German society for years and who have contributed substantially to keeping hospitals, nursing homes, and many other societal sectors functioning.
Furthermore, Wagenknecht highlighted public comments made by co-faction leader Oliver Kirchner, who stated that the BSW could not cooperate because the party is led by a woman named Mohamed Ali and a “half-Italian.” The founder of the BSW commented on this, saying, “This demonstrates that some really eccentric figures are lurking behind Siegmund.”
