Bundestag President Julia Klöckner (CDU) will travel to Estonia and Lithuania from 8 to 10 April. According to the Bundestag administration, her meetings will focus on bilateral relations, parliamentary cooperation and the security situation in the Baltics, with digitalisation and cyber‑security added to the agenda.
In Estonia she will meet Parliament President Lauri Hussar and Prime Minister Kristen Michal. In Lithuania she is scheduled to talk with Parliament President Juozas Olekas, President Gitanas Nausėda and Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys.
She will also address the Lithuanian Parliament and visit the Lithuanian Brigade of the German Army. During her visit she intends to learn about the German armed forces’ overseas deployments and to gain insight into how soldiers and their families are stationed there.
