CDA Criticizes CDU for Poisoning Social Welfare Reform Debate

Dennis Radtke, chair of the Christlich‑Demokratische Arbeitnehmerschaft (CDA), denounced the CDU for contaminating discussions about social‑state reforms with its demands. “These reckless individual demands, triggered by half the country, ruin the debate politically before the relevant commissions even have a chance to weigh in” he told “Focus”. “Reform is not about certain MPs or officials being satisfied with the outcome or those who can make a name for themselves”.

Regarding the Union’s communication, Radtke added: “We’ve actually experienced enough painful lessons. I always thought that learning through pain was unpleasant, but it does have an effect”.
