CDU Backs Pension Commission Proposals as Strong Basis for Retirement Reform

The proposals put forward by the Pension Commission regarding reforms to old-age security have met with generally positive reception among the CDA, the CDU’s labor wing. CDA Chairman Dennis Radtke told the publications of Funke-Mediengruppe that the most crucial signal from the commission’s recommendations was the unanimous vote. He stated that this provides a “strong foundation” for the necessary reform, though he did not elaborate on the specific details. Radtke added, “I am very much looking forward to the details on Tuesday.” The Pension Commission’s proposals had been made public previously, and the final presentation of their findings is scheduled for Tuesday.
