In discussions regarding enhanced heat protection measures within Germany, a member of the Union party has called for the installation of sunscreen dispensers in German cities. Christoph Ploß, a Member of the Bundestag for the CDU, told the “Rheinische Post” that water and sunscreen dispensers should be put in place to protect the health of the population in Germany.
Concurrently, the Federal Government’s tourism official urged increased proactive measures against heatwaves. Ploß emphasized that many cities currently lack sufficient strategies to respond adequately to heatwaves, calling for urgent change. He stressed the necessity of more air-conditioned spaces, cool public spots, trees, and drinking fountains.
