A recent poll indicates a continued, albeit narrow, lead for the center-right coalition, CDU/CSU, in Germany’s political landscape. Conducted by the polling institute Insa and published in “Bild am Sonntag” the survey, encompassing responses gathered between September 1st and 5th, 2025, reveals that 26% of respondents would currently vote for the CDU/CSU.
This figure remains unchanged from the previous week. The Alternative for Germany (AfD) follows closely behind with 25%, also maintaining its level of support from the prior survey. The Social Democratic Party (SPD) holds 15% of potential votes, while the Green Party experienced a slight increase, gaining one percentage point to reach 12%. This rise allows the Greens to surpass the Left party, which remains stable at 11%.
According to the poll, the “Buendnis Sahra Wagenknecht” (BSW) and the Free Democratic Party (FDP) would not currently be represented in the Bundestag, receiving 4% and 3% of the vote respectively. Other parties collectively garnered 4% of the potential vote, a decrease of 1 percentage point.
The Insa survey polled 1,287 individuals, providing a snapshot of voter intentions at the beginning of September 2025.
