A few days before the state election in Rhineland‑Palatinate, the CDU still leads. According to the ZDF Politbarometer released on Thursday evening, the party-captained by Gordon Schnieder-has climbed to 29 percent, staying two points ahead of the SPD, which sits at 27 percent. Both parties gained an additional percentage point compared to last week.
Behind them, the AfD holds a steady third place with 19 percent. The Greens remain further down the list at 9 percent, while the Left (Die Linke) is at 5 percent and the Free Voters at 4.5 percent-both far from securing a seat in the Landtag.
The FDP, still part of the state government, can no longer be measured reliably. Its support is folded into the 6.5 percent counted under “others”, but its actual share is less than three percent.
