Linnemann argued that the ongoing debate is unproductive “I believe the entire discussion is misguided Our prosperity is eroding and artificial intelligence is dramatically changing the world – and we spend days debating a few percentage points on this or that tax That doesn’t move Germany forward” he said
He urged his coalition partners to prioritize action and implementation “We need to focus more on getting things done We have already seen success in migration policy The start wasn’t without flaws, but everyone has learned from it and understands the responsibility we carry The crucial point is not to repeat mistakes
Addressing planned social reforms, the Secretary-General emphasized the need to improve efficiency within the healthcare system “We must also expand bonus programs offered by health insurance companies” Linnemann stated “Patients should be more incentivized when they take greater personal responsibility” He also suggested that citizens may need to adjust to travelling further distances to access certain medical treatments
When asked whether he could rule out performance-based reductions in benefits, Linnemann responded, “There is a significant amount of money within the system that can be used more effectively and targeted more precisely There will be changes, such as in the type of treatment offered or the regional concentration of specialists But the relevant commissions are currently deliberating on these issues and it would be irresponsible to preempt their findings”
