This development further complicates the prospects for forming a government in Saxony-Anhalt. In the Magdeburger Landtag, the AfD holds 39 seats, a number that falls just short of an absolute majority. A potential coalition partner group-comprising the CDU, Left, Greens, and SPD-also holds 39 seats, while the BSW possesses five mandates.
