Chinese Firm to Build Luxury EVs in Brandenburg, Germany

Chinese technology firm Dreame is planning to establish a luxury electric vehicle manufacturing plant in Brandenburg, Germany, strategically locating it near Tesla’s Gigafactory. A company spokesperson, responding to inquiries from the Handelsblatt newspaper, confirmed the plans, substantiating reports that had been circulating in Chinese media.

According to the spokesperson, Dreame’s founder and CEO, Yu Hao, led a team to Germany in early September to scout potential locations for the new facility. The German base is intended to serve as a launchpad for Dreame’s entry into the global automotive market.

Previously known primarily for producing household appliances, Dreame announced its expansion into vehicle production in late August. The company’s initial model is slated to be a high-end electric vehicle, reportedly drawing inspiration from the iconic Bugatti Veyron. The unveiling of this vehicle is currently projected for 2027, as outlined in an internal company document cited by the Handelsblatt.
