Citigroup CEO Jane Fraser maintains that the enthusiasm surrounding “Artificial Intelligence” (AI) remains strong, even amid early criticisms. Speaking to the Handelsblatt (Friday edition), she stated that US growth appears “quite robust” and currently, no one anticipates a recession.
However, Fraser also cautioned about a potential shift in public sentiment. According to her, a certain degree of skepticism toward AI is currently emerging in the United States, noting that while this feeling is less prevalent in Europe, the US development could serve as an early warning sign.
Fraser also emphasized that the bank’s transformation is progressing rapidly. She referenced improved returns and stronger growth within its Services, Markets, and Wealth divisions. “The people at Citi are hungrier today than they were before. I like that” Fraser added.
