The Alternative for Germany (AfD) has seen a notable shift in voter preference, according to the latest “Bild am Sonntag” poll conducted by the research institute INSA. The party’s support has increased by one percentage point, now standing at 25 percent. This marks the highest level of support the AfD has achieved in the INSA “Sonntagstrend” since May 2025.
The survey reflects a relatively stable landscape for other established parties, with the Christian Democratic Union/Christian Social Union (CDU/CSU) remaining the leading political force at 27 percent. The Social Democratic Party (SPD) currently holds 15 percent of the projected vote, followed by the Green Party at 11 percent and the Left Party at 10 percent.
The newly formed BSW (Basiswertsicherung Schweiz) party and the Free Democratic Party (FDP) are currently below the five percent threshold required for entry into the Bundestag, receiving 4 percent and 3 percent respectively. Other parties collectively account for 5 percent of the projected vote, a decrease of one percentage point compared to the previous week’s survey.
The poll, conducted between July 28th and August 1st, 2025, surveyed 1,203 individuals and posed the question: “If a federal election were held next Sunday, which party would you vote for?”
