Coalition Leaders Plan Working Group Talks on Tax, Labor, and Pension Reforms

According to a newsletter from “Politico’s” publication “Industry and Trade” sources within the coalition confirmed that the leaders of the Union and the SPD have agreed to invite employers and employees to a session of the Coalition Committee in early June. A further meeting is also planned before the summer break, where the coalition aims to package and approve major reforms covering income tax, the labor market, pension structures, and the reduction of bureaucracy. Meanwhile, the controversial “relief premium” totaling over 1,000 euros has been deemed a failure by the coalition partners. Consequently, the Schwarz-Rot bloc will no longer pursue this measure, especially after the Bundesrat rejected the premium last Friday.
