Following weeks of intensive negotiations surrounding the amendment law for the hospital reform, the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and the Social Democratic Party (SPD) have reached an agreement. This development, reported by the “Rheinische Post” (Tuesday edition), stems from sources within the governing coalition.
According to the report, the Federal Cabinet is now expected to approve the draft legislation, spearheaded by Federal Minister of Health Nina Warken (CDU), on Wednesday. The so-called “Hospital Reform Adjustment Law” was previously removed from the agenda due to outstanding disagreements between the coalition partners.
Several federal states and health sector associations had voiced strong criticism regarding the delay in the Cabinet’s consideration of the proposed changes. The agreement marks a significant step towards finalizing the hospital reform process.
