Mainz 05 will face a challenging group stage campaign in the UEFA Europa Conference League, following Friday’s draw in Monaco. The German club was paired with Italian side AC Fiorentina, alongside Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Zrinjski Mostar and Turkish outfit Samsunspor in Group F.
Mainz 05 will play its home matches against these opponents at its home stadium, while traveling to face Lech Poznań of Poland, Omonia Nicosia of Cyprus and CS Universitatea Craiova of Romania.
The team secured its place in the competition only recently, overcoming a first-leg deficit to win its qualifying playoff tie 4-1 on aggregate after a 1-2 defeat in the opening leg on Thursday evening. This marks Mainz 05’s first participation in European competition in eight years, signaling a return to the continental stage for the club and its supporters.
