The leader of the Confederation of Medium-Sized Businesses and Economy, Gitta Connemann of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), has voiced strong support for Federal Minister for Economic Affairs, Patrick Schnieder (CDU), amidst internal discussions within the German government concerning the transportation budget.
Connemann emphasized the critical link between infrastructure and economic growth, stating that businesses require not only the maintenance and repair of existing roads but also the expansion and construction of new highways and federal roads. She stressed the necessity of a smoothly functioning transportation system to facilitate contracts, create jobs and ensure supply chains remain operational.
Highlighting the government’s awareness of the need to sustain economic recovery, Connemann expressed confidence in securing broad backing for the Federal Minister for Economic Affairs’ policies. She anticipates a unified approach to address pressing infrastructure needs within the transportation sector.
