Diesel and E10 gasoline prices in Germany have recently seen a slight decline. According to the ADAC on Wednesday, the national average price for one liter of Super E10 is currently 1.981 euros, while diesel costs 1.952 euros. This represents a decrease of 2.7 cents for E10 and 4.5 cents for diesel compared to the previous week.
However, the motoring club suggests that the drop is insufficient. Despite crude oil prices falling by over 10 US dollars per barrel last week, prices at the pumps have only decreased marginally. The ADAC criticized the major mineral oil corporations for delaying the implementation of cheaper purchasing conditions for consumers, even though price increases are usually implemented quickly.
Meanwhile, the euro/US dollar exchange rate remained largely unchanged from the previous week and therefore did not significantly affect fuel prices. Typically, a strong euro leads to more favorable purchasing conditions. However, given the significant fluctuations in the oil market recently, the exchange rate was considered a less decisive factor.
