SV Darmstadt 98 secured a 2‑1 victory over Fortuna Düsseldorf on the 22nd matchday of the 2. Bundesliga. Fraser Hornby opened the scoring in the 7th minute with a header from Marco Richter’s cross. Düsseldorf levelled just five minutes later when Jordy de Wijs used a Muslija corner to tap the ball in with his shoulder. In the dying moments of the game, Matej Maglica sealed Darmstadt’s win by header from Richter’s corner in the 88th minute, giving the Lilies the early edge in the race for the top spot.

Meanwhile, SV Elversberg edged Eintracht Braunschweig 3‑1. Lukas Petkov was the hero, finding the net in the 5th and 23rd minutes on passes from Condé and Gyamerah. Braunschweig pulled one back in the 35th minute through Aaron Opoku, but David Mokwa restored the advantage in the 75th minute, securing the triumph. With this result, Elversberg stays close behind Darmstadt in the standings.

In the third clash of the day, Karlsruher SC dominated Holstein Kiel with a 3‑0 win. Marvin Wanitzek opened the scoring in the 8th minute from a pass by Louey Ben Farhat. Ben Farhat added a second goal in the second half before Wanitzek sealed the match with a third, completing a comfortable victory for Karlsruhe.
