Delays, Cancellations Strike Key Routes Nationwide

Delayed and canceled long‑distance trains were reported across Germany on Monday, following a severe winter storm. At the time of the report, additional disruptions were expected in the north to persist throughout the day. The Berlin‑Stralsund and Berlin‑Rostock routes were particularly hard hit, with no long‑distance services operating in the morning; officials said these interruptions would likely last the whole of Monday.

On the Hamburg‑Hannover corridor, many ICE services were running late, for example the first ICE leaving Berlin, scheduled for 7:11 a.m., only reached its destination around 11 a.m. Some trains on this line were also cancelled. Similar delays and cancellations were reported in the Stuttgart and Ulm regions.
