Even amid geopolitical challenges, such as the Iran crisis and oil price volatility, coupled with growing market uncertainty, JP Morgan manager Dorothee Blessing currently observes a boom in the Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) market. Speaking to Handelsblatt, Blessing, who was recently promoted to Co-Head of the investment bank at JP Morgan Chase, noted that this makes her the most prominent German figure within a major US bank. She emphasized the massive momentum she sees across international borders.
According to Blessing, the global M&A volume stands at $1.9 trillion-a figure nearly 30% higher than the previous year. She noted that this marks the second-highest value recorded over the last decade, calling it “truly remarkable” and expressing confidence that this trend is set to continue in the near future.
While the manager remains optimistic about the European market, she issued a crucial caution: investors should not underestimate the potential economic consequences that high oil prices could have on the continent.
