Deutsche Telekom Debuts AI‑Powered Smart Glass Prototype at Mobile World Congress

Deutsche Telekom plans to unveil an AI‑powered glasses prototype at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, starting Monday. The plan was reported by “Handelsblatt” (Thursday edition) based on presentation documents.

When the newspaper asked a Telekom spokesperson about the documents, she confirmed their accuracy. “What we’ll show at MWC is a working prototype with a live demo” she said. “It’s a design study, not a commercial product announcement. The goal is to demonstrate what’s technologically possible using currently available hardware and AI infrastructure”.

The project is a collaboration with Chinese manufacturer Ray‑Neo, a subsidiary of TCL Electronics. According to the news outlet, the glasses concept builds on the existing Ray‑Neo X3 Pro, which is sold internationally for around $1,299. Deutsche Telekom traditionally uses the MWC to introduce new devices and platforms, and this exhibition will follow that pattern.
