DGB Chairwoman Yasmin Fahimi confirmed that the union will refuse any cooperation with the AfD, even if the party were to become the governing body in Saxony-Anhalt. Speaking to Focus, Fahimi stated that there would be no political cooperation between the DGB and the AfD, regardless of whether the AfD assumes power in Saxony-Anhalt.
When asked whether she would cancel an engagement if Ulrich Siegmund invited her to a social dialogue as Minister-President, Fahimi replied that she could not envision the topic or nature of this social partner discussion.
Fahimi also expressed concern regarding the AfD’s announced intention to replace many civil servants should they form a government. The DGB Chairwoman added that the union provides legal counseling for its members in Saxony-Anhalt, and she anticipates that this service will be utilized in the coming years.
