Dortmund Seize Lead with 3‑2 Victory Over Heidenheim, Guirassy’s Brace Sparks Comeback

On matchday 20 of the Bundesliga, Borussia Dortmund defeated 1. FC Heidenheim 3-2. The game opened with an early goal for Dortmund when Waldemar Anton capitalised on a corner to give his side a head start. Heidenheim, however, fought back and equalised shortly before halftime, with Julian Niehues converting a through ball from Mathias Honsak.

In the second half, Heidenheim initially turned the match around when Niehues scored again from distance. But Dortmund responded quickly; Serhou Guirassy netted two goals within a few minutes, restoring the home side’s lead. Although Guirassy missed a penalty late in the game, Dortmund held on to secure the win.

Heidenheim tried to level the score until the final whistle but could not penetrate the Dortmund defence. With this victory, Borussia Dortmund closes the points gap to the league leaders, moving six points closer to the top of the table.
