SV Elversberg secured a confident 3-1 win over Arminia Bielefeld on the 27th matchday of the 2 Bundesliga. Although the Saarland side created several chances early on, they entered the break at 1-0. Lukas Petkov struck in the 38th minute to give his team the lead, and after the half‑time interval Petkov again proved decisive, curling a solo effort to make it 2-0. Five minutes into the second half, Marvin Mehlem saw Arminia reduced to ten men when he was shown a red card for a reckless challenge in midfield. Amara Condé later restored a point for Bielefeld, but Christopher Lannert responded with a goal of his own to seal the result.
Meanwhile, SC Paderborn turned the tide against Dynamo Dresden, winning 2-1. Paderborn had dominated the first half, with Vincent Vermeij opening the scoring. In the second half, substitute Steffen Tigges sparked a turnaround with a brace that clinched the victory for the Lilies.
With both wins, Elversberg and Paderborn sit level at the top of the table. The eventual leaders, however, will be decided when the current front‑pushing pair of FC Schalke 04 and Darmstadt play later in the evening.
In the third afternoon match, 1 FC Nürnberg defeated 1 FC Kaiserslautern 3-0. Luka Lochoshvili netted a brace, and Adam Markhiev converted a penalty to add another point to the tally. Kaiserslautern were unable to mount a significant response.
