On Wednesday morning in Berlin, environmental activists detached themselves from the roof of the CDU party headquarters. According to police, emergency services were called to the Konrad Adenauer House shortly after 7 a.m. Several individuals had gained unauthorized access to the roof of the building. Personnel from the Central Property Protection service discovered the people, who then rappelled off the roof and unfurled a banner on the building’s façade.
The group involved appears to be members of the Robin Wood activist collective. The banner read: “Clear boundary against the right. End social decline, combat the climate crisis.” Police alerted specialized high-angle rescue teams to the scene. Investigations regarding trespassing have been launched against all participants. Furthermore, one person operating a drone was initially apprehended. Police had deployed approximately 30 officers to the location.
