Officials of the EU Commission have warned about the humanitarian toll of the war actions carried out by Israel and the United States in Iran. The warning comes from confidential diplomatic correspondence that the “Spiegel” and ARD’s Report Mainz have reported.
During a Wednesday session in Brussels, the humanitarian aid department voiced its concerns to a group of European diplomats. Minutes from the meeting record the officials’ assessment verbatim: “Air strikes were not precise, they hit densely populated areas, and civilian casualties are rising-schools and health facilities have been struck”.
The reports note that the air strikes on Iran have further worsened an already volatile socioeconomic situation.
