The European Union appears to be looking to pause the ratification of the trade agreement it negotiated with the United States, Bloomberg reports. The largest factions in the European Parliament intend to postpone the legislative work needed to approve the deal later that Monday. The EU is also demanding that President Donald Trump’s administration provide further details on its new tariff program.
Previously, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that Trump’s use of an emergency law to impose what he called “reciprocal tariffs” worldwide was unlawful. In response, Trump announced new global tariffs.
