The first evacuation flight organized by the German federal government landed in Frankfurt. Lufthansa’s aircraft took off during the night from Muscat, Oman’s capital, and arrived in Germany on Thursday morning.
Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul (CDU) had previously explained that the priority of these flights is to evacuate the “vulnerable group”. This includes elderly, ill, frail, pregnant individuals and children. Tourists who are not part of this category are expected to wait longer for evacuation.
At the time of the landing, the exact number of passengers aboard the flight was unclear.
