Flixbus Horror Crash 20 Injured Autobahn Nightmare

A Flixbus overturned on the A19 highway in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern early Friday morning, resulting in injuries to passengers and crew. The incident occurred near Röbel, heading towards Berlin, shortly after 2:40 AM.

According to police in Rostock, the bus was traveling from Copenhagen to Vienna and carried 53 passengers and two drivers. Emergency services responded swiftly, with firefighters, paramedics and a rescue helicopter deployed to the scene.

Twenty people sustained injuries, one of them considered serious. Uninjured passengers were transported to Röbel via a replacement bus. Authorities from the Dummerstorf, Linstow and Plau am See highway and police districts also assisted at the location. The vehicle is currently undergoing investigation by DEKRA, at the request of the public prosecutor’s office.

The A19 highway is fully closed to traffic following the accident and ongoing recovery operations are expected to cause further delays. Rostock police are asking for public patience and anticipate a prolonged closure of the route. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
