Frankfurt & Paderborn Win DFB-Pokal Cup Matches

Eintracht Frankfurt and SC Paderborn successfully advanced to the next round of the DFB-Pokal following victories in their first-round matches on Sunday. Paderborn, competing in the second tier of German football, defeated third-division side Viktoria Köln 3-1. The match saw an early offensive push from Paderborn, with Adriano Grimaldi scoring twice within the first eight minutes, followed by a goal from Filip Bilbija in the 36th minute. While Viktoria Köln increased their pressure in the second half, they could only manage a single goal, scored by David Otto in the 59th minute.

Frankfurt, a Bundesliga team, faced a more challenging start against Oberliga side FV Engers. The match remained competitive for a period, with the lower-division team creating several opportunities. However, a quickfire double from Jean Bahoya (44th minute) and Ritsu Doan (45th minute) established a clear lead for Frankfurt before halftime. Doan added another goal in the 54th minute as Frankfurt extended their advantage. Late goals from Elye Wahi (89th minute) and Paxten Aaronson (90th minute) finalized the 5-0 victory. Both Paderborn and Frankfurt will progress to the next stage of the competition.
