Fuel prices in Germany have remained largely stable compared to the previous week. According to a recent analysis by the ADAC, the nationwide average for Super E10 currently stands at 2.125 Euros per liter, which is almost identical to last week’s level of 2.128 Euros. Diesel was priced at 2.200 Euros per liter, down slightly from 2.204 Euros reported the week before.
Despite a significant rise in the Brent crude oil price-which jumped from about 79 to around 89 US dollars per barrel-this development did not translate into corresponding consumer fuel price increases. Nevertheless, the ADAC characterizes the current price level as too high. Furthermore, the report noted that prices have risen noticeably again since the weekend.
Regional price variations are occurring due to the ongoing low water levels on the Rhine, which has increased the cost of transporting and procuring fuel in the western states. However, fuel supplies are not exclusively managed by inland shipping; they are also secured through seaports, pipelines, rail, and road transport.
