Officials assure that the German beverage supply chain is stable amidst the ongoing heatwave. A spokesperson for the German Brewers’ Federation told the “Rheinische Post” that both beer supplies and the resupply of returnable containers are guaranteed. This reassurance comes after past heat periods, when high demand occasionally led beverage retailers to encourage the return of empty containers, citing glass deposit bottles becoming scarce. However, the Federation’s spokesperson added that she is unaware of any current shortages.
