Marc Henrichmann, chair of the oversight board, agreed that connected cars could become a gateway for external espionage if security is not properly enforced. “While these technologies represent significant progress, they could also become a backdoor for foreign intelligence services” he told the newspaper. Henrichmann, however, cautioned against blanket bans and urged the establishment of clear, robust security standards that would build confidence without stifling innovation.
