German Interior Minister Dobrindt Confirms Commitment to U.S. Partnership Amid Trump’s Greenland Threats

Despite United States President Donald Trump’s recent threat to annex Greenland, German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt (CSU) urged that the partnership with the U.S. should not be called into doubt. In an interview with the Sunday edition of the “Süddeutsche Zeitung”, the politician said, “We need a constructive collaboration, even if it’s not always easy in recognizable terms”.

Dobrindt added that the past few days had highlighted the importance of remaining in dialogue: “It is crucial that we continue to talk to one another”.

He also stressed that Europe must keep its focus eastward and on Ukraine. “It is essential for us Europeans that Putin’s war ends. The western world must stand together and avoid further conflicts” he said.
