German exports of medical technology products to Russia reached record levels in the first half of 2025, according to data from the Federal Statistical Office, reported by “Welt am Sonntag.
Between January and June 2025, the Federal Republic exported medical technology items worth approximately €375 million to Russia. This represents a 6.6 percent increase in export value compared to the first half of 2024.
The value of medical technology products exported to Russia in the first half of 2025 is the highest recorded since the commencement of the war in Ukraine on February 24, 2022. Even before the conflict, during the first halves of 2020 and 2021, Germany did not achieve such high export values for medical technology to Russia. It’s worth noting that the statistics are not adjusted for inflation, which is a contributing factor to the increase.
