German Police Break 12‑Tonne Cocaine Ring, Seize €15 Million Real Estate and Luxury Goods

Police investigators and prosecutors in Düsseldorf have dismantled an international drug operation operating out of North Rhine‑Westphalia. The organized‑crime unit of the Düsseldorf Police Headquarters and the district public prosecutor’s office (ZeOS NRW) say the suspects smuggled at least 12 tonnes of cocaine from South America over several years.

Sixteen premises were searched as part of the investigation. The 34‑year‑old German suspect was arrested, according to the Sunday newspaper “Bild”.

Special forces stormed a villa in Ratingen belonging to the suspect, seizing luxury goods worth nearly €800,000. In addition, properties owned by the suspect’s close relatives were confiscated, with a combined value of almost €15 million.
