German Politicians Condemn Violence Against Druze

Reports of pro-Syrian demonstrators in Germany celebrating violence against Druze individuals have drawn strong condemnation from within the Social Democratic Party (SPD). Speaking to “Welt” television, the SPD parliamentary group’s spokesperson for foreign policy, Adis Ahmetovic, expressed zero tolerance for such displays.

Saturday saw several hundred supporters of the Islamist regime in Damascus gathered near Berlin’s Rotes Rathaus and in other locations, reportedly commemorating the massacres targeting the Druze community in the southern Syrian city of Suwaida.

Ahmetovic emphasized the necessity of a clear and decisive response from Germany’s legal system, stating, “I have zero acceptance and zero tolerance. I expect that where these demonstrations occurred, local police and the judicial system will deliver clear answers.

The spokesperson drew a parallel between the endorsement of violence against Druze and demonstrations expressing solidarity with Hamas and commemorating the events of October 7th, stating that he holds the same level of intolerance for both. He affirmed the need for unwavering legal action against any displays of violence glorification on German soil.
