According to a Forsa poll commissioned by RTL and ntv, a clear majority of German citizens-57 %-believe that the U.S. and Israel’s military attack on Iranian targets is wrong, while only 29 % support it and 14 % are undecided. The rejection is especially strong in eastern Germany, where 73 % oppose the strike. Support for the attack is found mainly among CDU/CSU voters (54 %). Voters of the SPD, Greens, the Left, and the AfD overwhelmingly disapprove.
When asked whether the German government should criticize the United States and Israel more strongly for their actions in Iran, only 42 % think such criticism is warranted. Forty‑five percent think it is unnecessary and 13 % remain uncertain. Among party supporters, 66 % of Greens and 72 % of the Left call for tougher criticism, whereas 67 % of CDU/CSU supporters and 57 % of AfD supporters oppose it.
On the issue of whether the fighting will lead to the fall of the Iranian regime, Germans are split: 44 % say they expect a collapse, 44 % say they do not, and 12 % are undecided. Those who view the attack as fundamentally justified are far more likely to anticipate a regime change, with 65 % expecting it. Among CDU/CSU supporters, roughly every second person believes a fall will occur.
