The German government reacted with skepticism to US President Donald Trump’s proposal to refer to artificial intelligence in public communication as “Superintelligence” moving forward. Government spokesman Stefan Kornelius told the dts Nachrichtenagentur on Wednesday that the German public is already familiar with artificial intelligence, meaning a “new terminology” for the concept is unnecessary. Trump had made this announcement the previous day during the UN General Assembly debate. During his speech, Trump also addressed the Iran conflict extensively. Regarding this issue, Kornelius generally welcomed the fact that discussions and meetings are taking place in New York. The government spokesman added that any serious efforts towards an agreement with Iran would receive Germany’s support.
