Germany Dismisses EU Stability Concerns Amid Von der Leyen Vote

The German government has stated it is not concerned about the political stability of the European Union following recent votes of no confidence filed against European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in the European Parliament.

Government spokesman Stefan Kornelius, responding to inquiries from the dts Nachrichtenagentur on Wednesday in Berlin, indicated that while the government is always attentive to developments, it does not believe the no-confidence motions pose a threat to the EU’s stability.

He declined to comment directly on the substance of the motions themselves, emphasizing that the German government generally refrains from evaluating procedures within other parliamentary bodies.

Two parliamentary groups, “Patrioten für Europa” and The Left, submitted separate motions proposing a vote of no confidence against President von der Leyen. The European Parliament is scheduled to debate and vote on these motions during its plenary session from October 6th to 9th.
