Germany Sees Slight Relief

Fuel prices in Germany saw a slight decrease during the week ending late July, according to a recent analysis released by the ADAC automotive club on Wednesday.

The average price for a liter of Super E10 gasoline nationwide was €1.668, a reduction of 0.5 cents compared to the previous week. Diesel prices also fell, averaging €1.615 per liter, down 0.8 cents from the prior week.

Despite this easing at the pump, the price of crude oil experienced a slight increase during the same period. Brent crude oil futures were last quoted at approximately $72 per barrel, roughly $3 more than the week before. The Euro also weakened, trading just above $1.15, a lower value compared to the previous week’s exchange rate.

Despite these less favorable underlying conditions, the ADAC assessed the current gasoline price as reasonable. However, the club continues to consider diesel prices as significantly inflated.
