The German federal government has tightened its travel and security advisories for the Middle and Near East. A travel warning has been issued for Bahrain, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, according to the Foreign Office after a crisis‑staff meeting on Saturday.
In Iran, a travel warning with an exit order has been in place since the fall of 2022. German diplomatic missions are maintaining contact with German nationals on the ground, and special personnel‑safety measures are being arranged for German Foreign Office staff working there.
