The German government stated it holds no concerns regarding the confidence vote scheduled for the French government in the French parliament in Paris on Tuesday evening.
Government spokesperson Stefan Kornelius, responding to inquiries from the dts news agency on Monday in Berlin, indicated that the situation had been anticipated for some time. He emphasized the close relationship between the German Chancellor and the French President and confirmed that the German government is observing developments within France.
Regarding France’s current economic challenges, Kornelius stated that the German government does not offer advice to European neighbors. While economic performance is a natural topic within bilateral discussions, he stressed that each country must draw its own conclusions and address its unique circumstances. He added that Germany is currently focused on its own fiscal responsibilities.
