Germany’s Diesel Prices Surge 2.3 ¢ to €1.72/L as Crude Holds Steady and the Euro Weakens

Diesel and petrol prices in Germany rose noticeably last week.
According to a recent ADAC review, the average diesel price climbed by 2.3 cents to €1.721 per litre, while Super E10 increased by 1.2 cents to €1.748 nationwide. Super E10 has not been this expensive in almost a year, and diesel has not cost as much as it does now since mid‑April 2024.

Crude‑oil prices remained almost unchanged compared with the previous week. A barrel of Brent crude fetched roughly $67-about $1 less than the week before-but the euro weakened against the dollar. The ADAC judges the petrol price to be at an acceptable level, but considers the diesel price too high. With only a 2.7‑cent margin between diesel and Super E10, the ADAC believes there could be room for diesel price reductions.
