A significant procedural gap has emerged surrounding the newly appointed State Minister for Modernization, Karsten Wildberger, prompting criticism from within the parliamentary budget committee. Lisa Paus, chair of the committee and a member of the Green Party, has pointed out that Wildberger’s ministry currently lacks a dedicated budget allocation within the approved financial plan.
Speaking to RTL and ntv, Paus highlighted the apparent disconnect, noting that while Wildberger officially holds the position, responsible for modernization and digitalization, his ministry’s presence is missing from the established budget framework. She emphasized the tangible realities of the office, including a dedicated workspace and website, contrasting this with the absence of a specific budget plan assigned to the ministry.
Paus underscored the need for clarification regarding the specific departments and responsibilities to be consolidated under Wildberger’s leadership. She characterized the situation as indicative of a significant disparity between the government’s declared intentions and the practical execution of its policies, raising questions about the government’s ability to translate plans into actionable measures.
