Hoffenheim Secure 2-0 Victory Over Bremen; St. Pauli Force 1‑1 Draw With Leipzig via Late Penalty

On Tuesday, Werder Bremen lost 0-2 to TSG Hoffenheim in the return game of the 16th Bundesliga round, while FC St. Pauli and RB Leipzig ended up sharing a 1-1 draw at the Millerntor.

In Werder’s Weserstadion, the home side came through the first half without a goal despite having a clear advantage at times. Hoffenheim gained the lead just before the break when Alexander Prass struck from outside the box in the 44th minute. After the teams switched ends, VAR saw Wouter Burger receive a red card in the 52nd minute. Hoffenheim quickly answered, with Grischa Prömel doubling the advantage in the 54th minute. Bremen pressed for a comeback but were unable to find the back of the net.

At the Millerntor, the match seemed headed for a Leipzig away victory. Yan Diomande gave RB the lead in the 66th minute with a shot that slid in from the edge of the penalty area. St. Pauli increased pressure in the final moments and finally earned an equaliser: following a foul by David Raum, Martijn Kaars converted the penalty in the third minute of added time, securing a 1-1 draw.
