Germany’s annual rate of consumer price inflation eased slightly in June 2025, according to data released Monday by the Federal Statistical Office.
The inflation rate is projected to reach 2.0 percent, a marginal decrease from 2.2 percent in March and 2.1 percent in April. Consumer prices are expected to have remained stable month-on-month during the sixth month of the year.
A key indicator, the inflation rate excluding food and energy – often referred to as core inflation – is anticipated to have fallen from 2.8 percent in May to 2.7 percent in June. This metric remains notably higher than the overall inflation index.
Energy prices continued a downward trend, registering lower than levels seen in June of the previous year (down 3.5 percent year-on-year). Food prices increased by 2.0 percent year-on-year, while prices for services rose by 3.3 percent.
